Nollywood filmmaker Austin Faani has wondered why his female colleagues are not supporting Funke Akindele on her Lagos State Deputy Governorship ambition.

The producer, happily married to screen diva Charity Eke (Chacha Eke), made his observations known on Thursday on his verified Instagram page.

Austin Faani wondered if it could be envy-holding actresses from rallying around in support of Funke Akindele, who is contesting to become the Deputy Governor of Lagos state under PDP.

He wrote: “Funke Akindele’s colleagues are not campaigning for her, especially the female celebrities.

Could it be envy or what?

We can post her film but not her political ambition.

I trust she will do better than all the previous Deputy Governors of Lagos.

Austin Faani had expressed his disappointment at the commencement of the Big Brother Titans TV Reality Show just as Nigeria is at the peak of conducting the long-awaited general elections.

According to the father of four, Ebuka and the organizers of the show need to someday explain to Nigerians why such an irrational decision.

Taking to his verified Instagram page, Faani, who is happily married to Chacha Eke Faani, wrote: “Someday, not soon maybe, Ebuka and BBN will explain to Nigerians why they couldn’t wait for just a month as to not distract the Nigerian masses especially the southern Nigeria that engages more in their awesome show from the coming election. There will be this dialogue someday, and I hope their reasons make sense and add a positive impact to what everyone in Nigeria is after. Get your PVC, guys. I hear people say, vote wisely, with your conscience and all sorts. If you can’t use any of the above traits to vote, simply vote for Peter Obi and Datti Yusuf. Thumbprint where you see a family picture.”

It would be recalled that twenty-two energetic, young, and vibrant housemates drawn from Nigeria and South Africa had stormed the maiden edition of Africa’s top reality TV show, Big Brother Titans.

Bbtitans, as it would be mostly called, holds in South Africa, with the housemates battling for the ultimate prize of $100,000.

A 30-year-old woman recently asked the internet for advice on her difficult mother-in-law.

The story goes like this. One day the woman decided that it was time for her and her husband to take some much-deserved time off from work. She began saving for a two-week holiday and, when the time came, asked her husband to book the tickets. When her mother-in-law found out about the trip, she immediately exclaimed that she wanted to go too!

The mother-in-law threw a massive tantrum, began texting and calling the woman endlessly, and sent people to talk to her to convince her to bring her on the trip.

But that wasn’t all. The mother-in-law even threatened to call the police and make a fake complaint so the couple would be forced to stay if she couldn’t go on the trip.
The Husband

So what did the husband say? Well, unfortunately, he wasn’t much help. He didn’t see why his mother couldn’t come along and told his wife they should bring her.

In fact, the husband felt so strongly about it that he gave the woman an ultimatum: “Bring my mother, or I won’t go either.”

The woman called his bluff, and he backed down, saying: “FINE! I will tell her to stop it because we won’t take her”.

And then, it got quiet. Suspiciously quiet. The woman couldn’t believe her luck as she heard nothing more from the mother-in-law about the holiday.

The Holiday

Cut to a few weeks later, and it’s the day of the trip. The couple arrived at the airport, and the woman immediately realized something was off. Her husband begins walking ahead of her as if looking for someone. She tries to get his attention, but he blanks her.

And it was at that moment that she noticed his mother standing in the waiting area with her luggage!

The woman froze, “I felt a cold wave washing over me, and I was fuming inside,” she said.

She could not believe what her husband had done!

The husband walked over to the mother and gave her a big hug, and the woman decided enough was enough. She walked towards the exit with her husband following her asking him to stop.

The woman was furious, but the husband told her she was overreacting and shouldn’t mess up the trip.

She told her husband that he could go on the trip alone with her mother but that she was not going. The woman went home alone, crying, and couldn’t believe that her husband had booked his mother a ticket without her knowing.

An hour later, he walks through the door, yelling and raging about how she had ruined the trip last minute. He even called her family, telling them that the trip was canceled because of her.

The woman was heartbroken, but even some of her family members felt she should have gone on the trip.

As he and his best friend grew older, they never grew apart. They each have been through some tough things over the last several years, which has only brought them closer.

He and his best friend take turns staying over at one another’s apartments for weeks; that’s how close they really are.

“We’ve always been nice to each other, and saying “I love you” or “love ya” is not uncommon,” he said.

“But lately, it’s been more. Not to sound like those people, but we’ve literally laid in the same bed facing each other, just talking about how much we love and care about each other.”

They even ended up kissing last year and have also kissed a couple of times since then. Not too long ago, he and his best friend ended up sleeping together, and then she said she was in love with him.

“I told her that I love he,r but I don’t know if us being in a relationship is the right move,” he continued.

“She agrees, but if I asked, she would say yes to a relationship. I’m just apprehensive. We’re both at low points.”

“And we both really need each other as friends more than ever. I’m just worried about losing another close person. This loss would hurt more than anything else. I don’t know what to do.”

The maiden edition of the reality TV show Big Brother Titans will debut on Sunday evening.
The show, organized by MultiChoice, was announced in 2022. It will feature housemates from Nigeria and South Africa in one Big Brother House. The show has a $100,000 prize money attached to it.
Big Brother Naija hosts Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and Lawrence Maleka from South Africa will host the show.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Abiodun Ayoyinka, also known as Papa Ajasco, has debunked reports claiming he is dead.

Papa Ajasco and Company (formerly The Ajasco Family) is a Nigerian family television sitcom created by Wale Adenuga in 1996.

Papa Ajasco in the comedy show is known as a womanizing bald-headed husband who often hits his head with his hands when astonished by an event.

Soyinka started playing the Papa Ajasco character under Wale Adenuga’s blessings but left the role to Femi Ogunrombi, who played for two years.

Years later, Ogunrombi, in an interview, said fans connected more with Ayoyinka and was asked by Wale Adenuga to forfeit the role to the original actor for commercial reasons.

However, Ayoyinka’s clarification became necessary after Ogunrombi, who took over the role from him in 2006, died on Saturday evening.

The death of Ogunrombi created confusion as some media houses reported that Ayoyinka was dead.

Clarifying the reports, Ayoyinka released a video to show his fans that he is not dead.

He further thanked his fans for their concerns.

Soyinka ended the video with his usual signature in the famous longest-running Wale Adenuga Production (WAP) series.

For the first time, Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has opened up about how she survived cancer and her life-changing surgery.

Mercy Johnson made this revelation in the latest episode of her Youtube cooking show, where she had a special guest, Joke Silva, on for a chat. During the show, Mercy Johnson asked Joke Silver about the health of veteran actor Olu Jacobs.

Following the response from Joke, Mercy shared her story of how she was put on medication for life when she was diagnosed with cancer.

She said;

“… Odi [her husband] and I have actually been here, and I have never discussed it where we had, like, Uhm, a scare. I had a cancer scare in the quote and had my thyroid removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids.

My last was six months at that time, and then we kept saying, “Okay, we have to understand that this is the new us; let’s go get the surgery done.” And then we got there; they said I would be on medication for the rest of my life, and it was a reality that we had to sit down.

They give me timing and tell me I can’t miss my medication. Once you wake up that day, that’s the first thing. Telling me all of the side effects. So I’m reconciling with this you’re saying; it’s the truth. At the point you realize this is where we are, let’s grow from here, let’s live in this comfort zone.”

Nigerian musician, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, addressed the age gap between his 51 years old wife, Lola Omotayo, and himself; she is nine years older than her husband. Peter and his twin, Paul, turned 41 in November 2022.
